USB Type-A is a type of USB (Universal Serial Bus) and was the first type of USB to appear.
USB-A ports and cables have been around for quite a while and as such, they are the ones most folks are familiar with. USB-A connectors have a rectangular horizontal port with pin connectors on the bottom side. This design means the connection only works if the cable is inserted correctly. If you try to insert the cable the wrong way, you'll encounter resistance — don't force it!
USB-A has been going out of favor since the introduction of USB-C in 2014, but many modern devices still have at least one USB-A port. After all, there still are millions of peripherals and devices that require a USB-A connection. This is the main reason USB-A won’t completely go away anytime soon, despite it being an older connection type.
Based On Their Physical Design,USB cables come in different shapes and designs. Therefore, based on their physical structure, they are classified as follows:
● USB Type A
● USB Type B
● USB Type C
● USB Mini (Mini USB A and Mini USB B)
● USB Micro (Micro USB A, Micro USB B, and Micro USB B Superspeed)
● USB Type-A can also be referred to as USB-A. It is one of the most common USB connectors. Therefore, they are also sometimes called standard A connectors. Until now many PCs, PC peripherals, cell phone chargers and so on are still using this interface, is currently the most popular USB interface.
● USB-A is also divided into a male connector and a female connector. The A side of a common USB-A cable is the male connector, while the charger is the female connector.
The USB-A male head is designed with 4 notches on the top and bottom, and the 4 protruding tabs of the female head are fixed with each other. So there will be obvious scratching track on the USB-A male head when it is unplugged for many times.
White rubber core is generally USB1.0 or USB1.1; Black rubber core is USB2.0; Blue rubber core is USB3.0.
