Usually cell phones support high-power charging, in addition to the PD protocol, there are many manufacturers using their own private protocol to complete; in addition to their own devices, and is not compatible with other brands of high-speed charging, the purpose is to maintain their own ecological accessories market, but this leads to a great waste of resources and the generation of electronic waste. In this charging environment, UFCS convergent fast charging came into being, a convergent fast charging protocol emerged to rationalize the use of resources and reduce e-waste, and to enhance the development of charging technology.
The emergence of UFCS mobile terminal fusion fast charging technology perfectly solves the problem of private protocols of each family, which do not match each other's high-speed charging, and can use one charger to fast charge all devices. Mobile terminal convergence fast charging technology effectively optimizes fast charging fragmentation and reduces the need for charger replacement for users to update their cell phones, while third-party chargers can also enter the high-speed charging market to better serve users and guarantee their fast charging experience.
On May 28, 2021, the Telecommunications Terminal Industry Association released the converged fast charging standard "Technical Specification for Converged Fast Charging of Mobile Terminals". The standard aims to solve the problem of incompatible charging protocols due to different brands launching their own private protocols on the market, especially among major cell phone brands, where there are many private protocols and they are incompatible with each other. UFCS fusion fast charging has become a common fast charging standard in the fast charging industry, which can realize the unification of the fast charging market. In improving the charging experience of users, it promotes energy saving and environmental protection in all aspects.
The UFCS Fast Charging Specification is called Universal Fast Charging Specification, a new generation of converged fast charging protocol, which is led by the Green Energy Working Group (WG10), led by ICT, Huawei, OPPO, Vivo, Xiaomi, and led by Honor, Silicon Power, Rexchip, Lithophone, Onbao Electronics, Dinku Network and many other The agreement aims to develop a convergence protocol for mobile terminals. The agreement aims to develop a converged fast charging standard for mobile terminals, solve the problem of incompatible inter-matched fast charging, and create a fast, safe and compatible charging environment for terminal users.
At present, there are seven chip makers, namely, ICIC, SmartFusion, E-Chip, South Core, CoreSea, Lich, and GWM, launching UFCS converged fast charging protocol chips. Among them, CPS8843, IP2736, SW2325 and RT7202KLA are the first four chips that have been officially certified by UFCS.
