On October 19, 2022, Apple's official website shelved two tablets, the iPad 10 which finally uses USB-C and the iPad Pro which was upgraded to the M2 processor.
As the most basic model of iPad series, iPad 10 is equipped with 10.9-inch Liquid Retina display with 2360x1640 resolution, A14 Bionic chip, 12-Megapixel camera on the rear and TouchID function integrated with the top button of the body. A total of Blue, Pink, Silver, Yellow four distinctive color options, built-in battery capacity of 28.6Wh Lithium Polymer battery.
Previously, the European Union passed new regulations requiring all electronic products sold in 2024 to adopt the USB-C interface. iPad Pro, iPadAir, iPadmini and other series of models have long since fully adopted the USB-C interface to provide powerful expansion capabilities and better versatility, while the iPad ninth generation still uses the Lightning interface. But today's release of the iPad 10 body interface finally changed from Lightning to USB-C, so that all iPad family fully embraced the USB-C interface, say goodbye to Lightning port. Battery capacity also varies, with 28.65Wh for the 11-inch model and 40.88Wh for the 12.9-inch model, supporting USB-PD fast charging.
The iPad Pro 2022 features a full-featured USB-C physical interface with Thunderbolt 3/USB4 fast transfer specifications with bandwidth rates up to 40Gbps and backwards compatible with USB3.1 gen2 at 10Gbps. it supports USB-PD fast charging, 6K@60Hz video transfer, and high speed data transfer.
The iPad Pro 6th generation has a total of 11 inches (price $799 onwards), 12.9 inches (price $1099 onwards) of two screen sizes to choose from, the color options are deep space gray and silver. There are five types of capacity configurations: 128GB / 256GB / 512GB / 1TB / 2TB.
The Apple Pencil still uses the Lightning connector and requires the USB-C to Apple Pencil Adapter to pair and charge with 10th-generation iPad.
Apple did not hold a conference for the two new pads, but put them directly on the shelves quietly open for sale in the early morning. Both products are normal upgrades, but also still standard with 20W PD charger. The biggest change is the iPad 10, replaced the original Lightning interface with a USB-C interface.
